Jobs at Subsea Europe Services

  • About Us

At Subsea Europe Services GmbH, we're charting the future of autonomous maritime technology. From our locations in Rostock and Halstenbek, Germany, our close-knit team of technology, product and commercial experts is driving innovation across the ocean industries.

Through our Subsea Europe Services and FLANQ brands, we design, build, and deliver next-generation autonomous systems that set new standards for science, industry, and defence. Our technologies power critical missions — from advancing oceanographic research to protecting vital maritime infrastructure and enabling complex defence operations — where precision, resilience, and technical excellence are non-negotiable.

While Subsea Europe Services pushes the boundaries for offshore energy and scientific exploration, FLANQ is on a bold mission: to safeguard European democracies through domain advantage.

Deeply rooted in Europe and collaborating with international partners, we stand for intelligent systems integration, true autonomy, and a strong foundation of values. If you’re passionate about innovation, possess strong communication skills, and thrive in a startup environment where your voice is heard, we want to hear from you.

    The role

As part of our strategic realignment and continued growth, we are seeking a Field Engineer / Payload Specialist to join our team in the integration and operation of advanced sonar, sensor, and navigation systems.

Some Of What You Will Do

    • Adaptation and calibration of the systems for different platforms and operational scenarios

    • Technical support during project acceptance and handover to the end customer

    • Instruction and training of customers and partners on system operation and functionalities

    • Point of contact for customers, partners, and colleagues for technical inquiries, as well as system troubleshooting, maintenance, and configuration

    • Preparation and execution of hydrographic surveys, as well as presentations, demonstrations, and live testing of the systems

    • Support in further development and improvement of existing systems

    What We’re Looking For

    • A completed degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Communications Engineering) with experience in hydrography, or a completed degree in Hydrography/Geophysics with strong technical expertise in integrating sonar, sensor, and navigation systems

    • Proven hands-on experience with multibeam echosounders and side scan sonars, as well as solid knowledge of network technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, routers, switches, firewalls)

    • Strong technical understanding and knowledge of electrical engineering; ideally combined with experience in embedded systems, cabling, and power supply solutions

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, solution-oriented approach — even under time pressure during field operations

    • Willingness to travel internationally for projects, demonstrations, and training sessions

    • Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken, enabling effective communication with international teams and customers

    What We Offer
